Had not seen Assassin Spirit 120 and Assassin Spirit 120 Plus before. I like the look of new fan. The base is interesting in that heatpipes are plated except on base.

Thermalright now seems to be working at least 3 different markets;China (Asia), Europe (maybe old USSR countries separte as well) and Americas. Each area sees some product difference if only in how they name it.

Their changes in fan clips is long overdue. While their old clips did work okay once cliped, they were not simple to clip. Anyone installing a cooler with the old clips should practice installing the fan on cooler before installing cooler to figure out how to do it.

This probably wouldn't be a good buy over say a Scythe Kotetsu Mark II which happens to be ~155mm height as well and € 30.

Ultimately I think Thermalright is aiming at bit too low a pricepoint as there's already the True Spirit 120 Direct. $30ish is already low, if they're aiming for $20 it's a losing battle.

Isn't the Kotetsu a rather bad performer? I thought I had recalled that, and in the couple of reviews I pulled up it was pretty bad.

Yeah....the little girl hentai avatar is really creeping me out....

Well in Toms HW USA it did poorly on their HEDT chip (it's a 4 heatpipe cooler with a 1200RPM 120mm fan) but over on computerbase , hwinfo NL, and Techtesters it did okay

The original Kotetsu was highly recommended by SilentPCReview for non-overclocked mainstream socket systems.

Ok, but given TR's track record, why are you assuming it won't be a better performer before we've seen any test results?

That's a no on the area of heatpipes, 4x6mm is weak and the base is another no with such spaced heatpipes.

5x6mm or 6x6mm heatpipes that are direct contact with no aluminum gaps, thanks. On 140mm this changes into 8mm heatpipes at best.

Fan...? Looks like their Chinese division got a hold of Noctua's manufacturer lol.

$18 for the single fan version [$24 for the dual] MSRP doesn't sound too bad.
