Noiseblocker e-Loop failure right at 6 years!

So I've had my e-loops and it's seen 3 major upgrades since I got them. Only last week I started to notice one of the fans on my rad has started making a kind of grinding scraping sound. So I finally had time to look at it yesterday and noticed one of the fans no longer has a smooth rotational orbit yet it's like it's off axis (shown in video one) and I thought ok well looks like that's the problem. Carried on as normal as it wasn't too bad when in operation then after a few more days it went bang and stopped working all together lol as shown in the second video.

It's right on 6 years and Noiseblocker offer 6 years warranty so let's see what they do. I sent them an email yesterday with the videos. Upon checking my invoice the 6 years was up exactly 2 days ago! It didn't stop working until yesterday how's that for luck. I'd be interested to see what they have to say.

If they don't honor that it'd honestly be kind of hilarious

They timed it perfectly

Have never had a fan fail but having hardware fail is never fun. Best of luck!

Haha I know! The first thing I said to myself was "yeah of course it fails exactly when the warranty period is up"

It's an odd failure though., It could possibly be a bearing? The movement of the blades is strange so it could be something keeping it together has worn down or flat out failed. I've never had a fan fail on me so this is the first time lol. I've got some noctua's that were in a old server build for over 10 years 24/7 and they're still going!

6 years is a pretty darn good run time for fans. Noctua also have full no questions asked warranty for their fans.

Looks like the clip has come off the shaft which then allows the fan to ride high and wear the bearing out.

i hope the other 6 year old units don't start popping off one by one O.O!

*eyes his 40 GTAP15s sidways* out of the original 50 purchased a decade ago, only one has truly failed, but i'm almost positive that was water damage.

Question is will noise blocker be just as welcoming when it comes to a 6 year warranty claim! It's about to be tested and documented for public knowledge I am sure they will as they got nothing to lose really and i'm sure they're stockpiled with old stock still.

I got 10 of them in my build so let's hope not lol! Funnily enough, I will be downsizing from my 900D soon so a new build is on the cards I would like to re-use these fans so let's hope it's that one and only one

I’ve got a bunch of Panaflos that have been running daily since 2005. Ten of those years were 24/7 at full speed. At rest they feel a little worn compared to my new two year old Thermalright’s. Should have another 5 years or so left in them. I’ll be sad to see them go.

Ahh good news I wasn't paying attention and I was looking at the wrong invoice not even for my fans lol. I actually purchased them on the 31st of March 2014. So I still have just a little over 1 month remaining on Manufactures Warranty. Still cutting it close but glad I am still within the 6 Year window
