LOL, I agree the fans are definitely strange looking things. As for new design being beneficial I have my doubts. Indeed, Zalman has made some decent coolers in the past, but would be nice if we had a reveiw by someone who uses an acceptable test procedure. I don't want to recommend something that I haven't tested or at least seen credible test results of.

Decent coolers with incredibly frustrating mounting solutions.

Only Zerotherm had worse mounts.

Yeah....the little girl hentai avatar is really creeping me out....

Indeed! You made me remember what a pain it was to get one mounted when I tried one years ago. Igf memory serves, their instructions wer rather hard to follow too, making it even more difficult.
Never tested / used a Zerotherm so will just take your word on that.

I had to cut a CNPS9900-DF off a MB. After the nightmare of getting it installed, I couldn't get it off in one piece.

The Zerotherm ZT10D was a hoot. Great performance, and a good looking cooler. But...the manual had warnings all over it about MB damage during install, and rightfully so. The mount was horrible and had the strongest mounting pressure I ever came across. On my Lynnfield rig I would lose a RAM channel if I tightened it all the way. More annoying was that it came with an AMD mount, but was physically impossible to mount on AMD - the heat pipes were directly over the screw holes to mount it, and it used long spring loaded screws:

I purchased 2 CNPS9900MAX for $20 each and the screw quality of the included hardware was atrocious. The included hex tool didn't even grip the screw heads and even with using a nice quality hex wrench they still stripped. I never bothered to install the 2nd one. I might look up the threading sometime and get some nice screws but it's not very high on my priority list.

Back in the day I ran Zalman too, just like everyone else.. Until I tried a Thermalright. Since then, I haven't really looked back until recently. But to me, its still the same picture. Everyone is like omg look how high those Zalmans are rated. But they are still lower than both of my Thermalrights, and by the looks of things, the Thermalright mount still gives it a kick in the nuts. I totally forgot about Zerotherm, I remember hearing all the problems like ciarlatano speaks of.. made me glad to have my Ultra120 Extreme

AsRock Z170 OC center CPU to near side of RAM socket is about 49mm and about 77mm to near side of 16x PCIe. Cryorig R1 Universal will just fit with it's thin front fan.

With no RAM behind CPU on either of these mobos and plenty of room toward PCIe sockets there are many top tier coolers that will fit.

Some links to places you can buy from would be helpful. Then we can pick best of what is available to you.
Hello, I have been away from the forum but today i recalled I had left this thread without replying, Thank for taking an estimated measure 44mm clerance from the cpu to the nearest ram slot could fit something like the TR Macho Direct with fan? if not then I am limited to thinner/cpu coolers with better offset, what cpu cooler do you think like the Mugen 5 are within my budget and have bad fans that make them underperform, take for example the Mugen 5 Kaze Flex fans aren't the best regarding static pressure (see. https://www.overclockersclub.com/rev...e_mugen5/3.htm https://pcper.com/2020/03/scythe-mug...cooler-review/)
Notice how the newer version probably just changes the fan and it is beating the Fuma which is on par with the NH -D14 or NH D15
here @ehume mentioned that it was on par with the Dark Rock 3 but between these which one could take advantage of higher static pressure fans? https://webcache.googleusercontent.c...nt=firefox-b-d

I would be able to buy in some USA stores which take paypal or Amazon

it looks great but a bit above my $40-50 budget

I have a Hyper 212 Evo you could have for free. But it would probably cost at least that much to ship from Canada to your location. If you were a little closer..

Yes I think it would cost me more if I buy it directly from Amazon and ship it from USA, thanks for the offer either way

I think that Venomous cooler you mentioned in opening post is best way to go. Both Venomous X and Venomous X RT are same size and use same mount. LGA1156 is same 75x75mm as all other LGA115x sockets, and old 1366 is same 80x80mm hole spacing as newer 2011. Would just need the 2011 studs. Attached Veromous demensional drawing might help.
