Shameless bump; since this fan is now available at PPCs (and there are STILL several in stock where I got mine, Chilled PC UK) and more people are getting their hands on it, I feel this is still relevant to anyone interested in giving this fan a shot. Also edited in testing conditions to the post with results, since I'd forgotten to do it before.

Which San Ace fans would pair well with a Cooler Master Hyper 212+ heatsink? How big is the difference between 120mm x 25mm and 120mm x 38mm? Is one San Ace fan good enough, or would a push/pull be significantly better? I plan on overclocking an AMD Phenom II x6 1055t to 4.0 Ghz and I want a good fan for the heatsink. Thanks.

Ouch! £20 for 1 San Ace (with connector) with shipping from Chilled PC UK. I thought they were a lot cheaper?

Well I didn't have to pay VAT since I'm in the US, so it was a bit cheaper, but the shipping and sleeving took it to just under 23 pounds; not bad considering how far it had to travel and that it took as long as promised (around 8 days) to get here. Still, Noctuas are more expensive even with VAT factored in, so that puts things in perspective. Plus, as you can tell the guys did a great job pinning and sleeving mine, so it was well worth the added expense. PPCs also only started carrying this San Ace recently, whereas I got mine from CPCUK's first shipment way back when THEY started carrying it.

Hey Chunky, question regarding my fan setup: I have 9G1212H101 pushing through a Megahalem, but directly behind the H101 is the stock 800D exhaust fan reversed to intake. Thus far I've had no problems, but do you think I should be concerned about the H101 overpowering the stock fan? I'm considering adding another H101 for a push-pull config so that I can run the fans at lower speeds for equivalent performance -- would that overpower the rear intake?

Picture related.

As long as it's undervolted you should be fine.

Will the single fan at full power overpower it? I'd assume not, since it's pushing thru the mega, right?

It shouldn't, mainly since it does have some distance from the rear fan and doesn't quite line up to it.

How the hell are your temps so low at 4.0? Oh, that's an i5? Do they typically run colder than i7's by that noticeable an amount?
