Okay so I have been looking for a way to mount my old Accelero to my new 5770. Finally I found a way to do it and its quite simple actually. Takes about an hour or two

The thing here is that Accelero is too long for this card, as the core is closer to the "socket side" than it is supposed to be when considering Acceleros sizes. So what you need to is to cut the cooler apart, take away the aluminum fins, bend the heat pipe a little higher than the others and glue the aluminum fins back. And finally you have to take the black plastic cover away off of the core in order to get it mounting properly (I had somekind of a chip that was colliding with the plastic cover). This might sound hard but I have a few pictures of my card so you can see how its done.

And the rest of the pics...

Its quite a sandwich to be honest but guess how it performs? Incredibly well, yes, you guessed right

I had the V2 cooler at 36% and got 41c at IDLE and 65c at LOAD. The following temps were with my new ultra cool cooler 33c at IDLE and 50c at LOAD. Well how about that.

Could someone give me a hint considering the voltage amount I can give this card. Im atm. at 1050mhz for the core and mem still at stock 1200mhz and Im giving the core 1,225V. It crashed at 1050mhz when it was 1,2V so I raised it. But now Im interested in how much this card can handle voltage

In the OP, you say S1 rev 2, in your sig, you say S2 rev 1. I'm confused heh.

Nice temps, btw. You'll definitely be able to overclock pretty nicely.

Getting back into PCs after almost a 10-year break...

Fixed now, thank you. And yes, it seems it OCs quite well as Im getting 1050/1300 fully Furmark stable. Gonna increase the mem clock further though. At 1050 for the core it maxes out at 58c it seems. Im giving it 1.225v btw.

I am the man u need!!
The card can handle the voltage u can give it with the stock cooler,1,35 volts via s/w.
The thing is that its not actually 1,35 its rather ~1,41...Its also really UNSTABLE going from 1,41+-0.03v OR MORE! under load!
So in your case and since u have great cooling, i d go for the vMOD if u r good with the iron...U get stable and accurate voltage!Thats what i v done!My card needs 1,33 for 1015 but i know its a crappy piece...The card can handle FOR SURE 1,4volts with quality cooler!
At anycase cane u run furmark @1,35 volts software so i can compare the gains of the S2???
Thanks!

Could someone confirm this before I go ahead and fry up my card?

Edit: Tried setting 1,35v from Asus utility --> dumps it all the way down to 0.95v. Doesnt work.

2nd edit: 1.3v is max I can set from Asus utility. Umm... Seems like its going to stay around 61c with 1.3v.

Try MSI afterburner, see if that lets you tweak the voltage with more stability.

You guys are making me want to get a 5770 btw.

Umm... It is stable. At 1050mhz, which is great I think. And I wont be going any further, as 1100 would be overkill for 247 clocks dont you think But thanks for the tip anyway

Yeah I know. But if cosmetics is the problem then you could take off that eggshaped plastic thingie. But Accelero would always be muchhh better
