This self-cooling effect means that graphene-based electronics could require little or no cooling . . .

I'd still want a heatsink just because the inside of my system would feel like it's missing something special without it.

Professor Pop adds, "Graphene electronics are still in their infancy; however, our measurements and simulations project that thermoelectric effects will become enhanced as graphene transistor technology and contacts improve."

I think we'll still need heatsinks and fans for the forseable future, but with the research being done, it's just a matter of time before they will evolve into something else or disappear completely.

If PC cooling is a thing of the past, I guess I'll just rig all my fans to a frame that I can attach to a La-Z-Boy recliner. It'll be my summer gaming chair.
