Good to know about the post icons being gone, but are they really gone site wide? There is still a column for them and they are still there in the subscriptions table.
They will likely remain on prior threads, hence there visual presence in the subs. Can you please show me this column you speak of ?

I believe the system will convert PNG's to Jpg's but need to check on that.

Just click on your avatar on the floating forum header -> subscriptions, it's the second column.

As to the PNG's it's not converting the existing ones, is it? Mine is still a PNG. And if it's not converting, it's probably also not resizing the existing JPG's, including that member who has one that is more than 7 megabytes in size.

Oh right, that is what I thought you meant, just checking. I will see if there is a way to make that disappear and consult with the devs, I will also speak with the devs regarding image resizing. My belief is that any images bought in prior to the new rules would not get auto converted, hence why we are still seeing large ones.

More on this tomorrow.

Any news? If not and in case this week's meeting hasn't happened yet, may be a good time to bring it up with the devs.

Enterprise, when you disabled animated GIFs for avatar pictures, it had the unfortunate side-effect of doing the same for posts.

1. Your country. = U.S.A. Oklahoma
2. Approx time frame of degraded performance. = Always slow, Randomly MUCH slower than @ other times. Some times it takes MINUTES for a page to open, then a half hour later, the page opens as usual.(Still slower than my other pages I visit)
3. Browser kind and version used.= Fire Fox Quantum See screenshot for ver.info.
Also using ADP (AdBlockPlus) with the basic default settings applied. See picture for general settings.
Internet speeds = 200Mbs down & 20Mbs up See additional pic for a bad day of my speed results. (before cleaning & resetting routers)

I tried with one, it didn't work - that is, it posted fine, but didn't animate, so I removed it, so I have to try again, let's do it now.

Test:

Name: TLDR small 4.gif
Views: 167
Size: 697.3 KB

Edit: Hmm, weird, it's working now. Could it be a section specific misconfiguration? Or just a temporary glitch that I experienced?

Let's try another:

Name:	RTX off - on meme.gif
Views:	172
Size:	409.7 KB
ID:	214598

It's not working with this one. It converted the file to a much smaller size and something went wrong in the process. The thing is, the first animated GIF is larger in size, at 697 KB, and wasn't converted, I just saved both and the first one kept its original picture size and file size, whereas the second one didn't and it was only 409 KB. It was bigger in picture size though (711x800 vs 420x270), but it doesn't exceed the GIF picture size limitations, which is the same for other picture files. Yet, it was converted to something smaller, from 711x800 down to 444x500 and down to only 85.5 KB in file size.

Why is different criteria being applied?
