Looks like the poll needs more sub $1k options :-)
I upgrade one part each year with a $200-300 budget. My original build cost $700 in 2010 and now the only original part that remains is the case, and I am doing a scratch case build this summer upsidedwnsmiley.gif
Each year I basically got the best I could for the part of the year in that price range. Has been a great way to do it for someone cheap like me. It also helps that my birthday is on Christmas so the upgrade usually doesn't even come out of my pocket
