One of the things that might help you tweak without wasting subzero juice is to lower the multi and try pushing BCLK on air. It'll probably go further on LN2, but you should have no problems going higher than 238.

On X58, BCLK was tied to PCI-E frequency... I'm not sure if they're related but it shouldn't cause any hard trying moving PCI-E up to 105 and seeing if that gives you any additional headroom.

When I say tied I mean that if you want BCLK over ~220, you needed to raise PCI-E. For 260+ you need 118+ on PCI-E.

All the above is for X58. I'm wondering if it has a similar effect with P55.

I spent many hours on air and water playing just with BCLK thumb.gif The highest one I ever achieved was 239. I don't have much experience, but my impression was that the stuff behaves differently in sub-zero - I had to use different levels and combination of voltages for high OC (mainly Vcore and QPI). Close to 5GHz they had precise values - anything slightly higher or lower didn't work.

My ideas - please tell me what you think:

1. I could not figure out 24x + turbo + 1 or 2 cores combo - I can set it, but I can not get any high OC (most of results better than mine were on 1 or 2 cores only).
2. Windows - I just used fresh Windows 7 installation - I had no issues with starting in BIOS @5GHz, so I imagine that super light version of windows 7 or even better XP could help.
3. I had strange feeling that lowering temps may help biggrin.gif LN LOL?

PCI-E - I will double check - but I'm pretty sure it's not like that on P55 platform.

Time for some pictures biggrin.gif
Before that, big thanks to Palzen - we did the whole session together. Also thank you to other OCN members for tips and encouragement. OCN is a great community thumb.gif

The parts.

Preparation.

I love eraser - easy to apply and remove.

This approach for bottom insulation is advised by Ivanov - one of best Polish overcklockers - I used a lot of paper, not k-flex.
It worked well.

Board is ready biggrin.gif

Ice, baby, ice thumb.gif

Action

More action

With my spare mobo and PSU (gigabyte P55-USB3 and OCZ 600W) I reached only 4.89, so I removed my main mobo and PSU from my watercooled rig (assus P7P55D-E Premium and corsair AX760i) for some more juice. Second insulation was really fast, but it worked as well. thumb.gif

In BIOS.. biggrin.gif
