Guess what came knocking on my door today. biggrin.gif

The box was properly manhandled, luckily the contents are far from fragile. It's solid and weighs a ton.

I was hoping for it to come with neoprene or armaflex, but I'm not sure if the foam is simply for shipping protection or whether I can use it for insulation. Only 2 pieces of the foam are close cell foam, the rest are soft.

Next step is to get some proper closed cell foam and grease, and finally go hunt some DICE.

the close cell stuff is fine for insulation as vince said nowadays he is including some insulation.

for grease, bassplayer put me onto this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/GELID-GC-EXTREME-10g-Big-Thermal-Paste-Compound-Grease-CPU-GPU-Chipset-Heatsink-/150854612713?pt=US_Thermal_Compounds_Supplies&hash=item231fa2b6e9#ht_3808wt_1399

or you can use cremique as both wont crack under the cold

nice pics BTW thumb.gif

Looking back at your venom thread, you received a proper armaflex tube with yours, while mine looks simply more like packaging material.

Oh, and by grease I meant the stuff for mobo insulation, but thanks for the tip.

What is dragon skin, exactly? Google didn't help, but I'm guessing it's silicon grease or something? I'll probably go with vaseline or dielectric silicone grease instead of eraser. It might be messier, but it's better to play it safe.

I just started using LET (Liquid Electrical Tape), great stuff, I really recommend it. Also doesn't dragon skin crack past -100?

Car: 2007 Fiesta ST - Many many mods, to have ITB's at some point.

I'd just use eraser to be honest, just because it's so easy to remove and relatively easy to apply. Just make sure you get a good seal and it's easy once you get the hang of it. smile.gif
