April 6, 2016 – HWBOT, an organization regulating international overclocking competitions and rankings today announces its participation at LanETS Montreal, Canada for the North American leg of the HWBOT World Tour 2016.
Running from April 15th – 17th the HWBOT World Tour at LanETS is partnered by ASUS, Seasonic, Praxair and TAITRA. All overclockers, PC enthusiasts and of course PC gamers are welcomed to join HWBOT at LanETS where they can learn the basics of overclocking at the HWBOT OC Workshops, take part in the Amateur World Series contest and enjoy Extreme Overclocking contests where a place in the HWBOT World Championship Finals is at stake.
“Last year’s HWBOT event at LanETS was our first ever on the World Tour, giving us a great opportunity to expose gamers to the world of overclocking,” Pieter-Jan Plaisier, Director at HWBOT. “We hope this year will be an even bigger success with even more participation in the OC workshops and an Extreme World Series that truly underlines what extreme overclocking on LN2 is all about.”
The HWBOT World Tour is a series of overclocking events held at various locations around the world throughout the year. The aim is to provide a relaxed social environment for overclockers to learn, share and compete. To help nurture the next generation of overclockers, the World Tour provides open overclocking workshops that offer an overclocking experience where first timers can learn simple tricks and tweaks that can improve their system’s performance.
No overclocking event would be complete without some real competitive OC action. Each World Tour event integrates overclocking contests for both amateur and extreme overclocking. Both Amateur and Extreme category overclocking contests include some great prizes for the winners, while the Extreme Series offers a chance to compete in the World Championship in Berlin at the end of the year.
Overclocking classes for amateurs and first timers taught by local overclockers. Learn the basics and start overclocking, then submit your XTU score. Top four scores enter the World Series Amateur Finals (see below). Note: PCs for the workshop are provided by HWBOT and the event partners.
Extreme overclockers from North America compete to win prizes including a place in the World Championship Final at the end of the year. The Qualification round will commence in mid-afternoon and involve several benchmarks, lasting 3 hours.
The top four amateur scores from the OC workshop are invited to compete head to head on XTU in Semi-final and Final rounds to win some top prizes from our sponsors. At the same time, the top four extreme overclockers will compete in 1v1 semi-final rounds. The 1v1 contests will continue in the early evening with a Third Place Playoff and Final round to decide the winner.
