awsome stuff when I stop putting sweat caps full of dry ice on my ram maybe ill go live stream. Like I said going to bench my i7 soon I hear alot of people talk about bad IMC, are you just guessing because you couldnt run at mem speeds as before. Could just be a temp thing xeon not hyper threaded are they. 950 uses way more power. Just wondering why people always think that.

do you use a probe were the temps similar??

My W3520 is the same thing as a 920, just binned a bit better.

I was just having issues with stability. Things that are 100% stable normally were totally unstable.

Like 1600 6-6-6 18. I use that in my 24/7 settings and that crashed giving me a 124 error and the IMC was only at 3200 with 1.35V.

IMC voltage is the QPI/VTT voltage.

There are tons of different names for it. Here's a quick summary:

On the i7 chips, anything that isn't the core is cleverly titled the Uncore.

This contains QPI, IMC, and all kinds of other jazz.

Usually, you only have one main voltage control over this section, called the QPI/VTT voltage or something similar.

In CPU-Z, the IMC speed is labeled NB (North Bridge) as on older chipsets the IMC (Internal Memory Controller) was not actually an IMC in the fact that it was located on the motherboard North Bridge, not within the chip.

Hope that makes some sense?

Yea I get it and thought I always have. However a little concerning to me because my bios has a qpi to dram voltage and a vtt voltage. According to what you are saying the qpi to dram = imc well thats great but then what does the vtt voltage equal. I am tired I gotta go to bed. Maybe I just need to read a little more on it when I am refreshed. Just wish there was an industry standard to the way bios spoke to me to many titles to say the same thing...... Thanks for your help im sure itll make more sense tomorrow. I jus thought I had a handle on it now om not so sure.........

On another note just got done fixing a water block with super glue. Withstood -28 degree glycol for 24 hrs.........not the best use elec but Im pretty stoked thanks bass
