Recommend me sound proof curtains so the neighbors stop calling me psycho

Where I live there are constant sounds of dogs barking, old pickup trucks, and neighbors screaming at me for playing the piano and threatening to kill me when I call the police for harassment, and then calling me a sick f___ when they hear the thumping of the piano keys when I'm wearing my headphones because they think I'm masturbating. Has anyone have experience with sound proof curtains or shades?

Specifically these https://www.amazon.com/NICETOWN-Micr...1532ffbdb12f47. I would also like to use some sound blocking shades in conjunction. The only other option is to use plywood but I don't want it to look like a crackhouse, thanks.

Your neighbors must not be bright.... threats are a good reason to call the police, again.... also you can sue for slander theres a good chance you have more money available to hire a lawyer than they do.... bury them in legal fees

to think we are alone in this vast universe is infinitely small minded.

from experience you need two layers of heavy curtain, furthermore the walls themselves also needs to have some form of sound-absorption like these.
the disadvantage of this is its a pain in the ass to clean.

trolling an adult is very dangerous, don't try it at home nor at work. you don't want to play tag with a rabid man.

I had a sub-par experience with sound deadening curtains myself so I made some out of medium weight solid cotton blankets. Works well for me.

Sealing any gaps that can allow sound in is a huge factor. Make sure your windows are insulated around the perimeter.

Yeah, curtains alone won't work. You're looking at a project here.

Something doesn't add up. When using headphones, the sound of electric piano keys shouldn't be noticeable to neighbors outside a closed window. Unless they're literally a few foot away with both your window and theirs lining up and both wide open, it would take intentional listening to even notice.
Unless you're mashing the keys hard enough to injure yourself, sound is leaking out somehow or your neighbors have it in for you and become enraged at the slightest reminder of your existence.

-Type of housing?
-Distance to neighbors, especially the one(s) complaining?
-Type of window?
-Interior wall material?
-Exterior wall material?
-Air conditioning?

You can use thermal curtains as they help to block noise. Also, there are many other ways to soundproof your room such as using a thick rug pad, window inserts and more. See this guide for making your room soundproof https://www.thespruce.com/soundproof...rtment-4062945

For noise reducing curtains you can check this post https://www.reviewpen.com/thermal-cu...heat-cold-out/

Hope this helps!

Must be a Kentucky thing.

I think we know who the sick ones are in this struggle.

I suggest you move out of USA.

Be honest, behind the facade of those things, the real priority is just screwing everyone over in the name of obscene profit & delaying any kind of backlash as long as possible. That's the real world.

Except for Canada and Russia, his problems with crowd noises would just get worse. Easier for him to move somewhere more rural. KY has lots of that.
The biggest noise I have to deal with is the sound of kids playing in the public pool across the street. But that is pleasant to me. Not all of the US is dense urban area with uptight neighbors.
Ones as bad as his sound pretty uncommon.

Those links lerkinn put up are pretty good too.
