Same thing I say about AV programs, do it locally. Batch update definitions on a schedule, dictionaries or what have you and have all that stuff run locally.

As for how I feel about Gmail, no eye deer, never used it. Plenty of other third party email services available for pennies a day that actually respect privacy, have an actual educated English speaking human on the line to talk to if something goes wrong in your config, thinking of Runbox, Startmail, Protonmail .
