Oh wow thanks for the input. I did get the extended warranty from microcenter which was two years no questions asked, but also Dell has a very good warranty for pixel defects if I end up going for the ultrawide. I'm just going to take this pg279q back and never try any others . So annoying to sit there in the store unbox and test, trying to pick through and notice the defects. I'm sure the salespeople want to shoot me ...but hey it is commission for them. Very much leaning towards the Alienware ultrawide. Dell also as a TN gsync 144hz I may look at too, and also a bit cheaper. Just not as pretty. Nice to hear you're all on par with me, and that it's a totally reasonable expectation.
