Yup, 290x was great with a little bit of time spent on it. Kept my 290x at 1125core/1500mem with a bump in volts, power limit and fan speed at 70%. This was on a reference Sapphire 290x and it never throttled at all. In fact in my case (Thor V2) it never really even hit 90*C no matter how long I played.
