WRT that video the 0.1% framerate differences were amazing -- sometimes up above 200%. It would've been interesting to see how consistent the framerate was on the 8350 vs. the Threadripper.
It makes me wonder how badly my 5820k is bottlenecking my 1080Ti.
The 0.1% lows can be solved quite a bit by overclocking the memory subsystem. IMC and ram. Something I am sure Timmy Joe did not have the patience to do for a quick video about old parts in XYZ year. Frame times get a lot more consistent with ram @ 2133 or above and IMC @2600 or above and HTT bus

The thing that everyone thinks is core is King. And it is. But the King can't run a kingdom effectively on his own. And with its slow L3 cache having memory that wasn't that wasn't slow helps a hecking load.
