i rather have recent and future games tested as they come out than have old games(3 years or older) tested, have to be moving forward not backwards in testing like this and thats what those 2 are doing moving forward testing games that came out recently and last year. to me these benchmarks are very good results that is head to head and not biased with proof to back up thier each individual experience which when compared to one another there is very little difference between them in both single and dual gpu set ups. smile.gif

the 8350 is becoming more and more appealing as i look over the results. biggrin.gif

The numbers are looking good.. I just want to know that if I run 3 660ti's or 2 670's or 680's the fx 8350 can keep up...

The greatest pleasure is to vanquish your
enemies and chase them before you, to rob
them of their wealth and see those dear
to them bathed in tears, to ride their horses and clasp
to your bosom their wives and daughters.

Key words here guys: post-purchase rationalization.

Now, why would anyone go ahead and buy AMD CPUs when they want to game? Could be fanboyism, could be lack of awareness or it could be that you wanted to show off an 8-core processor to your buddies, who knows? I'm pretty sure most people with AMD chips in this thread knew very well what they were getting into when they decided to buy an FX-chip and now they are trying to justify their purchase by posting ridiculous benchmarks to make themselves feel better.

Wow these results are great. It looks like for single GPU setups you would not need the higher cost of Intel to get the same performance, but for multi-gpu solutions Intel really is the best choice. AMD isn't even that far behind.

Thanks Stoffie and Powermonkey , very helpful thread to anyone considering the purchase of either of these processors. You guys spent a lot of your time ( and some of your money) to help demonstrate the differences between the 2 chips. I appreciate your efforts thumb.gif

Done.

I just had to delete 98 posts from this thread. When I came in here the first time, I had to delete 20~. A senior Moderator cleaned it up before then, too. That's well over 100 posts of arguing, bickering and off topic.

If you can't discuss things in a civil manner, don't do it at all. I'm not going to spend all of my time moderating one thread because one game gets 4FPS more than the other with a different CPU. You had a chance (2 in fact), and you continued to argue/flame.

Locked.
