Need help choosing New Components

So I think my NIC died as it fails to start and nothing I can do gets it up and running. Short of reinstalling windows which I don't really want to do considering this stuff especially my ram is pretty old. Pretty much I just game on my computer besides office and the internet.

I would re use my 980 Ti, PSU, and all my other components. Plan would be to just Swap out my 4690k, z97 Mobo, and ram. Lets say you could spend no more than 1k (I don't need to spend that much) what would you get. I have no brand loyalty so intel or amd I don't really care. My understanding is Intel is still faster for gaming. I just want everything to play nice. I do overclock so the board needs to be solid but I'm not the person to spend hours tweaking to get 4.6 on my 4690k vs the 4.5 I ran it at.

Would love to hear thoughts.
