Got a cheap USED system! Advice, Please..?

Hello,

To make it short, My bro has a 2018 macbook pro for his studying.

I want to get him the cheapest system that run 1080p 60+ fps medium settings USED.

However, the used market in my country is ****! All high prices to get a decent intel 2-4 gen i5 or i7. Even core2duo and i3 (for comparison) are inflated and not worth.

So after weeks, I got a very very good system for a good price. It was supposed to be an i7 4770, 8gb ddr3, 750 ti,1tb WD, Green, 500w gigabyte old non modular psu.

Upon the transaction, He ensured me that these are CORRECT. After trying it home, I found out it is i7 3770, 8gb ram, 750 ti, 500gb wd green, 500w gigabyte old non modular psu!! I know it is a very good CPU and no difference between 3rd and 4th gen but hell this is not what he offered me!

I contacted him about it, He was surprised and said he bought it from someone that told him the exact same (4770 and 1tb) and didnt know it was (3770 and 500gb), and he offered to pay a difference and solve the problem.

at first i said I want to return and get a refund. However he said he spent the buck immediately and currently traveling to another city with his family and said will be back in approx. 3 weeks.

I said once you come back less than a month I can give you the pc and get my money back (meet with him) and he said he will try get the money and pay me but he is really broke now and he seems an honest and truthful man and offering to cooperate with me.

Now I am thinking this is actually a good deal even all this happend. I was thinking to talk to him and just tell him to return me 80$ from the original I paid which is 346$ by money transfer while he is there and call it a day. Even can lower it to 66$ and hope he accepts it.

If he agreed I want to sell the 750 ti for 40$ and plug in my used gtx 970 strix that I got used for 93$ to get the best performance that can play high-ultra 1080p 60fps rather than 750 ti, get a 120gb ssd, sell this crappy case and get a new budget case with rgb to add some taste there.

Please note this price is a very awesome price and will not get another one like these specs.

BUT there is one problem: The psu has only 6 pin, and the 970 is 8 pin. I want to show you some pics for the psu, and ram, and overall build and what are the most logical modifications to get the best cheap out of this build? or just return it to the guy. currently, I have 3 gpus in hand that I can choose from depending on your advice:

Side note: The Psu has only 6-pin, so I have to get a solution if I want to get an 8-pin gpu

1- XFX Rx 580 8gb (8pin)
2- GTX 970 MSI Gaming (8pin)
3- GTX 970 Asus Strix (8 pin)
4- GTX 750 ti (6 pin) (the current one in)

Here are my exact specs for reference:
i7 3770 w/ intel stock cooler
GIGABYTE GA-PA65-UD3-B3
GTX 750 ti
Kingston (4x2gb) ddr3 (will have the exact pic of ram in a sec)
GIGABYTE 500w PSU (will have the exact pic in a sec)
WD Green 500gb

(I made a quick benchmark on Cinebench R20 as you see in the picture with temps)

The Corsair CX550M is a decent budget option otherwise you might be able to find the semi modular version of the Seasonic Focus for a good price

Cant I just a 6-pin to 8-pin adaptor and use my current one? I dont think it is that bad if it can get the job done with no overclocking

The PSU is old and not all that good so using adaptors adds the risk of frying everything

Newegg has the Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 550 watt for $50 with rebate if you are in the US

Otherwise you can get the S12III 550 watt for $35 with rebate
