If you believe AMD's presentation, the 3900X is equal to 9900k in IPC, and totally destroys it in multitasking (more believable since its 8 v 12 core). No one really knows until legit reviews are out (about a months time), but many people are leaning towards AMD. https://www.anandtech.com/show/14407...e-40-coming-77

I'm not sure I understand how well overclocks go though. The 9900k just overclocks to about 5.2ghz, about 200mhz right?

I would presume the 3900x could get a 200mhz overclock too? That's not unreasonable to assume right?

And the 9900ks... isnt' that just an overclocked 9900k?

Is there any reason to doubt AMD's presentation?

The 9900ks is a different beast. 5ghz on all cores. All the time. We still don't know all the specs yet. Ryzen 9 OC potential also unknown. I would wait for independent reviews.

There really is no reason to rely on the 9900ks at this point... Unless it's released at the same price as the new Ryzen CPUs, it's simply a waste of money.

There’s a lot of Intel hate on these forums so take it with a grain of salt.

There's a reason for it. They've been milking us for years. If you continually take advantage of ppl eventually they will get tired of it. It won't change my buying habits though. If they come out with a competitive product at a competitive price, I'll consider it regardless of my built up contempt.

Being annoyed and sick and tired of a company ripping people off with old architecture´s and CPU´s that have had little to no innovation for a very long time is hate all of sudden?
Making criticism against Intel and being annoyed and sick and tired of them is not hate its people voicing their relief that finally AMD has something just as good if not better than Intel

Intel deserves to be slapped hard their complacency laziness arrogance and greed is widely known and disliked
Maybe they will realize when they are losing sales and marketshare to AMD that they actually need to innovate again and start to lower their pricing which is good for us consumers

Edit: now we only need AMD or Intel to do the same with Nvidia
