I didn't have plans to mix kits. I'm getting the same kit further along the line once budget permits.

Ah. Yes ofcourse if put that way.

I just had a thought. I saw a 2 Month old X470-F for sale and as per researching, it has EXACTLY the same VRM as the X570-E.. ASP1405 and IR3555.

If I went that route I would have saved enough money to get a 3900X but my concerns would be would I need PCIE4 for Graphics cards in the next 8 years and would the motherboard support a 3600Mhz kit overclocked to 3800Mhz?

My thought too. But as I also have the option above.

Intel would have killed their HEDT line if they gave it more. Plus there are boards with PLX chips if you're the rare special unicorn that would benefit more from 8 fast cores over 10+ moderately fast cores and need >24 lanes.

Looking at purely CPU performance right now, the 9900K slightly takes the cake.

Looking at more things surrounding the CPU, i.e. the platform and the features, it's really hard not to recommend the 3700X over the 9900K. We don't know what the future looks like, but Ryzen is spreading everywhere and will be used everywhere. Support for it will only increase. Only you can answer if you are willing to lose a little bit of performance to count on this, or not.

i suppose, but pushing NVMe to market like they are means the regular joe needs more lanes. 24 seems incredibly reasonable for a $500 chip, don't the big boys kick in at 32, or 40 these days? Haven't really kept up. My last high count lane chip was ivy-e, but i'm on cruise control until end of next year.

R.I.P. Zawarudo, may you OC angels' wings in heaven.
