3700X vs 9900K 8C/16T ?

Spoiler!

My main question is now this. At 1440P the 3700X is only 7% - 10% slower than the 9900K?

Why 1440P? Becuase I like playing at 1080P Ultrawide and 1440P is closer to what my resolution is than 1080P.

Quote:
3700X vs. 9900K:
-- Better performance in 1 game
-- Identical performance in 1 games
-- Roughly 7-10% slower in 4 games
-- Roughly 6% or less slower in 3 games
3900X vs. 9700K:
-- identical performance in 3 games
-- Roughly 7-10% slower in 2 games
-- Roughly 6% or less slower in 4 games

Pure speed? 9900K. But it does use more power. 3700X is close behind it though.

And the king was placed, for all the world to show disgrace but only beauty flowed from this place...

That's hard to say, Intel still has the clock advantage as well. With optimization and fixes, the 3700x might get closer to a patched 5Ghz(+) all core 9900k, but I don't think it'll beat it for gaming.

But then again, an overclocked 9900K uses significantly more power and is harder to cool, so there is a trade-off for going with Intel as well.

What's the average overclock on 9900K's and how good would a original H100i cool it? Is it hotter than a 3770K @ 4.4Ghz and ,1.380 volts?

3800X vs 9900K? 3800X
3700X vs 9700K? 3700X

Performance varies per application and who wrote it for what platform/processor. For non gaming purposes... I would take Zen. For that 0.0001% best of the best insane cost cooling and max binned OC... sure 9900K/KF/whatever5Gedition OCed to a brink of destruction... at which point you could have just bought a 3950X with decent aircooler instead and sail right past it with ease.

Is 9900K really that hot? I'm going to be reusing my H100i if ever.

But what about gaming and Premiere Pro performance? Intel seems to win at those.

Is it just because of how Windows and programs are handling the new Ryezn 3000 CPU's? Meaning in the couple months the 3700X should match the 9900K?

Hi,
No idea this assumes a 9900k can do 5.2 as well
I'd say a safe bet maybe 5.0 what are you able to get on your 9900k ?

Cinebench is rendering so I'd say it's pretty close to any creation app.
Gaming 3700x is supposed to be pretty good I'm sure bio's will improve over time
Intel bios seems to get worse

Probably no comparison on heat produced one against the other amd clearly wins that fight.

Issue with amd is memory it will need b-die

https://benzhaomin.github.io/bdiefinder/

Also doubt 3700x will match 9900k
Security wise amd wins and intel looses performance.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to BARELY do 5.0Ghz with my old H100i, especially when my ambient reachs 35C to 38C. Temps might be a problem, unless the 9900K is not as hot as I think it is.

Is that site a complete list of ALL b-die memory? I'm aiming to get 16GB 2x8GB 3600Mhz as the first stage, then get another kit to end up with 32GB. Why? Because I might be kind of short on the budge and because populating all 4 slots look better.
