Short and simple....Im not a fan-boi I just want what works best for the buck

What would the better system be? For gaming, for OC, overall?

AMD

965 Black Ed (W/ Heatkiller Waterblock)
M4A79T-D AM3 Mobo
8 Gig DDR3 1600 (2 Dual Channel sets of 4 Gig)
GTX 295

Intel

i7 920 (W/Heatkiller Waterblock)
Foxconn Bloodrage
6 Gig DDR3 2000 (1 Triple Channel set)
GTX 275

Other stuff will remain the same: Case Fans, Pump and blah...but thats the main stuff im torn between and I guess the Intel would end up lil higher perhaps. Looking at a 1500$ Budg

You should change your title to Which not Witch*
I'd say Rig #2 if you had the money..$1500 is enough the build the Rig #2 anyway.

AMD for sure, you'll notice the difference between the graphics card, the Phenom II 965 will do better in gaming (Don't listen to Tom's hardward, there Intel bias) but getting a 4870X2 would most likely be better, because the AMD board will most likely only supports Xfire, not SLI. If your a gamer, def AMD.

You get more RAM, a Dual GPU, and it will just be better FOR SURE.

I love censorship.

I would go with the AMD/Nvidia build, with AMD's best processor and Nvidia's best graphics card...

O and off main topic but would this be a good idea? I mean common sense says it must improve some right? I have a Kandalf case that I bought in 06, the RAD on front door had some stock fans on it that after plugging in google I guess were only 40-50 CFM but was never sure.....Im buying 3 90 CFM fans same size to replace them in hopes of improving the rad. Anyone done similar
?

Definately the Intel rig you mentioned...10/10 compared to a 7/10

AMD build is faster if you keep it the same, but the I7 will be more powerful if you upgrade the video card later on. up to you really i say build number one

I just cant get a good sig dang it

for gaming and if you want to upgrade it amd build but remember if you want dual cards you need to buy ati but that nividia card will play any game anyway and sli doesn't give you much performance increase.

If it is primarily for gaming and you are limiting yourself to those two builds you had, then this is the best:

AMD

965 Black Ed (W/ Heatkiller Waterblock)
M4A79T-D AM3 Mobo
8 Gig DDR3 1600 (2 Dual Channel sets of 4 Gig)
GTX 295

There are way better builds than the two you've got listed though. The i7 is the better processor, but that AMD rig with a GTX295 is of course going to be better at gaming than the i7 with a GTX275.

If you are open though you could give us a price point and we can spec you out a build.

Audio setup: Xonar Essence ST into Niles SI-275 amplifier driving CSW Tower II speakers paired with M&K MX-70 subwoofer. Headphones: DT880 Pro 250ohm
