hmmm with that price list and your 700$ it's a bit of a challenge.. let me have a look and i'll be back.. but i guess that's not going to be the best build and it will probably be an AMD

EDIT: Quick question does those 700$ include a Monitor?

nope just a case (im thinking of coolmaster rc-690) and getting the AMD 720 and try unlocking quad core or get the intel q6600 off ebay and then overclocked it

next upgrade: Speakers,headphones.

One other thing you could do which is actually a safer bet than a lot of retailers imo is to look for what you may want on this site and buy a 2nd hand, but reasonably new chip/rig etc from someone in Oz.

I did that with my q9650 and although the price wasn't that different from a new chip as the aussie dollar went back up (though it was $300 less than the original owner bought it for 6 months earlier), I had plenty of evidence to show it was a quality unit.

I just hit 4.58 GHz on CPU-Z with unlapped air, so it's definitely held its own.

Obviously you could do the same with other parts. Ppl are constantly looking for the next new thing, which leaves plenty of room for quality 2nds at great prices.

Hope this helps

Not sure you got that, but I live in Oz too. what I was writing is that you can save $ buying a quality 2nd hand chip etc (from an Australian OC'er) rather than a disappointing new product (it happens).

Win/win imo.
