Hello woodpigeon, been a while. If you could work a Ga-ep45-UD3L into the budget . It would be a great addition

Hey man, sure has been - how you doing? TBH I don't know if he'd appreciate that board, as I'll only be OCing on the stock cooler, and those boards are really hard to get over here (I should know, I've been trying to get one for myself)

Thanks - his old PC is an athlon XP that idles around 80c and constantly BSODs and loops at startup, so it's a massive upgrade

Thanks man, but I've already planned a similar build, see the OP. Basically, I just want any suggestions on how to make the planned build any better without costing any more

My brother had the same problem with a old xp 2100+. Ends up his oem amd fan was failing (he had the computer 6 or 7 years ran it 24/7) and I replaced the stock cooler with a aftermarket one and his computer ran 20 degrees cooler (this was a $12.99 cooler, not a good one) so maybe he can get another cpu cooler and use this as a backup of some sorts??

A bit under budget I know, but he hasn't got much cash and I thought it would be great for his needs
Your chosen psu seems a bit underpowered to me.....

I personally would get something between 480w-600w

a Corsair 400w psu will power that lot easily. They are quality units.
