hello, yes i was wondering i know overvoltage of memory will hurt your chip i also know the memory controller is more sensative, then the rest of the cpu.

i have a ga-ex58-ds4 motherboard and i was wondering if changeing the memory multiplier (8x , 10x, 12x, 14x ect) could hurt the processor?

im not overclocking to 4ghz cause i cant risk it but am overclocked to 3.4ghz but my memory only runs at 1350 with 8x memory multiplier. (i have ddr3 1600mhz mem)

so would the multiplier reduce the life of my processor?

thanks
winter

What? Go for it? Yes it will reduce you're CPU from 20 years to 15 years. Can you handle?

No, upping the memory multiplier is not going to increase the risk to your CPU by any remotely perceptable amount.

...rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law,' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual. -- Thomas Jefferson

its just to scare you. i haven't seen a chip die anywhere like anywhere.

mobo being fried > ram not working. cpu's should never be a problem in anyone's book no matter how much its pushed
