Its been no secret that my time for Overclock.net has severely waned over the last year or so. The good news has been that my day job has presented me with some wonderful opportunity for growth and I've loved being able to take that opportunity and run with it, but the bad news has been that OCN has been pushed aside to some extent and I've come to the conclusion that it isn't fair for me to continue trying to keep up with both.
It is very bittersweet for me to be writing this message - the last one I'll be posting in any kind of official capacity here after over 10 years of being involved with the community staff in some way - but I'm trying to focus on the "sweet" parts. As I've begun phasing my involvement out, ENTERPRISE and The_Manual have each stepped up in a big way to lead through our transition into the Vertical Scope world, and now we're much more familiar with the new faces from the VS team who have joined the effort to keep the community growing and improving. After hanging in principally to help out with the transition, I feel confident that now is a great time for me to step back and allow everyone to take the momentum we've built coming out of the transition and keep running with it.
I can't thank everyone enough for all of your help, camaraderie, and occasional nagging over the years, and I can't wait to see how the community continues to grow in the future. I think it'll be nice to be a bit more of a spectator from the other side of the curtain again.
This is an "au revoir", not a "goodbye"
- so until we meet again when I've got a Retired Staff badge on, take care, and please join me in being the first to welcome ENTERPRISE, The_Manual, and the VS team into their expanded roles.
