We agree, and senseless bashing of anything / anyone would be covered in the ToS where we mandate that "You positively contribute to the forum and its membership" and
"You aid in maintaining a friendly and professional atmosphere".
Keeping the terms of service general in this way has allowed us to make minimal changes to the text over the last decade and ensure that our enforcement of these policies can always remain relevant to the current needs of the community and issues we face at the time. Overly specific policies can leave us in a position where problematic members try to tiptoe around the edges of a policy.
As always, if you see something that is an issue or shouldn't be in the community - even if you're not sure if it is an explicit rule violation - report the content. Our moderation team is great at figuring out if something is a violation and what kind of violation it should be.
