Is the Seasonic warranty valid worldwide?

Because I was thinking about going for the 1000w Platinum, mainly because of the warranty, 7 years is more than most of the competition, but I don't live in the U.S.

Yes, the warranty is valid worldwide. And for most models, the warranty is the same worldwide.
Thank you.

Hi MegaMan, Bling is always a good thing.... but our R&D are super conservative so LED is ... not in the planning, sorry! But white.... maybe.... ;-)

Has Seasonic had any issues with their 860 watt platinum PSUs? I have had an odd issue with my comp shutting off for a couple months on one about two years old. Ran 6 passes of memtest just to check, then got a psu tester and the psu passed. I emailed seasonic with my reg specs, even down to my 11 noctua fans and 6xt controller. I also told them that I had ran a test and with what tester. I got back what seemed to be a canned "start an rma" reply. I went ahead and replied to that, stateing that I did not want to send it in for rma only to have it not be faulty and to have to pay for the return and asked their opinion on my issue. To my surprise I got a very prompt reply saying to just sent it back and that they would replace it. I thought that was rather off and that maybe there were aware of an issue.

Either way I got a new unit on my own as I did not want my comp to be down. Ordered the same model as before and when I received it I noticed that the case was slightly different and totally black, not two one like the one I have. Has something been updated or changed? Sorry if any of this had already been discussed, I am not on this psu section much

Badkarma3059,

Did you contact Sea Sonic USA over this matter? Please send a PM to me with details.

Please note, it is difficult to make any diagnostic of your power supply based on information of your specs or test results / symptoms. For an accurate diagnostic, our service center will need to test the PSU. Sometimes, rather than long e-mail threads and lots of back and forth, it might be easier just to ask you to send in the PSU and have it swapped out.

As for the new unit, we do change our cases from time to time, but that is only for aesthetics.
