Been trying to test this new 290x with mining, random restarts, computer hangs, card isn't OC'd
While troubleshooting all the things that could be wrong I decided to replug the connectors in my PSU
This seasonic x 750 has been good to me for 1.5years
While removing the pci-e for the ONLY 290x in my rig I notice the connector is MELTED.
MELTED. I couldn't even remove it, so when I did, obviously the black pieces on the connector broke off.
I'm going to RMA this thing but, no single rail was completely overloaded, this is a gold rated 750 watt power supply and I'm not even close to reaching that limit.
So RMA or not, did I have a unlucky psu? What could have possibly gone wrong
I am assuming the short is what kept causing the PC to restart, but to be honest it was more of a screen goes black, everything is still powered on(gpu fans spinning , cpu fan spinning) ? I still don't know if this was the main reason for that or not, still have to test bunch of different things
Here's some bad quality pics for you to see
