EVGA PSU lineup explained

Alright since it seems almost no one knows what is what or what is good or bad i am going to explain so there wont be any misunderstandings

The below average ones so stay away!
Note that the NEX is also known as the G1 and B1 now

EVGA NEX 650 and 750 watts also known as the EVGA SuperNova G1 650 and 750 watts gold rated = old mediocre group regulated FSP Aurum, not worth buying so stay away
EVGA NEX 750 watts also known as the EVGA SuperNova B1 750 watts bronze rated = old mediocre group regulated FSP platform also not worth buying so stay away
EVGA W series HEC made and all around very mediocre and not worth buying for anything other then very low/cheap basic PC´s and some of them can only do their rated wattage at 25c
EVGA BT 450 watt OEM is Shenzhen Rui Sheng Yuan aka RSY and they can only do its rated wattage at 30c and uses the outdated group regulation scheme
EVGA N750 https://www.overclock.net/forum/31-p...evga-n750.html

The average / mediocre ones

EVGA B series = HEC made and slightly better then the W series but still pretty mediocre
EVGA BV series = HEC made very low price budget units that are not super terrible but are only rated to do their wattage at 30c which is too low
EVGA BQ series above 600 watt = HEC made series that has mediocre voltage regulation but ripple suppression is not terrible
EVGA GS 550 and 650 watts = fully modular Seasonic made units a bit average but does not cost all that much (NOT Seasonic G based as some reviews claim!)

The good ones

EVGA B2 750 and 850 watts = a slightly downgraded version of the old Super Flower Golden Green, a decent and cheap option
EVGA B3 series = appears to be some sort of Super Flower Leadex variant with lower efficiency (over power protection was faulty on the early units but EVGA claimed it was fixed)
EVGA GS 850 and 1050 watts = Seasonic KM3S based units
EVGA GQ series = FSP made series (GQ models below 850 watts are somewhat mediocre)
EVGA G1 1000 watt = fully modular FSP made unit
EVGA G1+ series = FSP made but has NOTHING to do with the older G1 and B1, is slightly better then the G2 but worse then the G3
EVGA PS 1000 watts = Seasonic XP2S based unit which is the same platform the Seasonic Snow Silent uses
EVGA GL series = exactly the same Leadex based series as the G2 series but with added LED lights in the cable ports
EVGA G2 series = Super Flower Leadex based units with 80 plus gold efficiency
EVGA P2 series = Super Flower Leadex based units with 80 plus platinum efficiency
EVGA T2 series = Super Flower Leadex based units with 80 plus titanium efficiency
EVGA G3 series = Super Flower Leadex II based units with 80 plus gold efficiency (Leadex II is an improved version of the old Leadex aka Leadex I)

Unknown

EVGA BQ 500 and 600 watt = made by Andyson but no reviews
BD and GD series no info on these or even IF they will be released

NEX650G/750G and 650/750 "G1" are the same thing, so are NEX750B and 750 B1.

I think you should combine the entries or state somewhere that the G1s are NEX rebrands rather then making 4 entries, but that's just me tongue.gif

Wish I had one huge list structured like the Sins VRM list.

When I go board shopping, thats what I use to decide what to get.

I keep the list right on my phone. Its time for you to put your knowledge into a big list of PSU's that are worthwhile.

What are you saying you want a list of everything?
Your phone is not big enough for that list lol.

This is a great reminder cheers Shilka
A buddy of mine recently had to last-minute change an order, as he thought the Nex offered the same quality
We put him right though and he got the supernova -g2

It is nice to see EVGA offering great PSU's with long warranties, (after registration), and at prices that are beating many other brands, (in the UK at least)

Was thinking about picking up the Supernova G2 850w. Newegg has it for $94.99 after mail-in-rebate until Saturday. I think my PSU is starting to die on me after 6 years.

I have two friends with those, you won't be disappointed, excellent PSU's arguably much better than my CoolerMaster V series.
