Question Corsair RM850x or HX750 are same price - what one for new build?

Hey everyone,

Planning my new build and cant decide on what PSU.

The Corsair RM850x and HX750 are the same price and I cant pick one.

- RM850x is more wattage and has a stronger 12v rail, is gold rated and 7 years warranty.

- HX750 is less wattage and weaker 12v rail but can swap from single to multiple 12v rails, is platinum rated and has 10 year warranty.

What is everyone's thoughts?

EDIT: Build will be 8700k on ASRock Fatal1ty Z370 Gaming K6 Motherboard and GTX 1060 6GB

Did you mean the HX750i or HX750? I'd say HX750i > RM850x > HX750.

The RM850x has 2 EPS connectors, fully modular, and is a little smaller in comparison to the HX750.

Edit: Ignore that, looks like they have revised the HX750 and I was looking at old specs. The RM850x and HX750 are now nearly identical.

Was referring to the HX750. I did not find any difference between the HX750 and 750i other then CORSAIR LINK and didnt think it was worth the extra $35?

The HX750 is also fully modular....I didnt think of size difference. Will be building in a Corsair Crystal Series 460X RGB case.

EDIT: Ahhh okies, I had to double check i read it correct lol. Yeah they look the same other then rating and wattage.

Dont bother with either the Seasonic Foucs series is better option in the same price range and the Seasonic Prime Ultra series is better

The HXi is not worth buying at all as the RMx is an improved version of the HXi
https://www.overclock.net/forum/31-p...explained.html

Foucs Plus is the same price as the RMx

Edit: By the way 750 watts is massive overkill for your system and a good 450 watt could power your system and even with a second GTX 1060 a 650 watt would be more than enough

So here you dont need more than this unless you plan on using SLI which you should not do anyway

Or there is the Prime Ultra if you dont mind paying the extra for a better PSU and a 12 year warranty

Your recommendation is noted here by myself BUT my oldest, wants the PSU to match his Asus ROG build being 'Red and Black' so he pointed me to this model on Newegg;

Is it worthy for him or not?
