Question About Power

Hey guys my graphics card just got busted and my pc shut off. I'm looking to get a new one. Nitro 580 is £160 and Gigabyte 570 is £155. I wanna get the 580 but I'm worried about the wattage. My specs are: you

Ryzen 5 2600

8GB DDR4

Corsair CX 500

I calculated the wattage on coolermaster's website and with boosted GPU clock it will draw 377W. The recommended PSU wattage is 427. Thank you!

Your PSU is not very good and might have something to do with your GPU dying
https://www.overclock.net/forum/31-p...500-600-a.html

Replace the PSU there is a reason why its so cheap

As for those so called calculators you need to take 28% off any number you get from them so its 271 watts not 377

Thanks a lot for the reply. I thought the reason was that there was a half plugged in power cord in the CD-ROM but it definitely is weird that it affected the GPU and other things still work. I barely even have the money to replace the GPU at the moment but when I'll be able to in the future what PSU would you recommend?

I'm from England and I'm a student so my money's pretty much nonexistent. I usually go for the best budget options.

You get what you pay for so if you cheap out on the PSU and everything in the system is at risk or an exteme and rare case the PSU can catch fire and burn your place down
You can get a Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 550 watt for around £80 on Amazon or £72 on Scan right now

https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Computer-...nic+focus+550w
https://www.scan.co.uk/products/550w...20mm-fan-atx-p

Thats a good mid range option so a lot better than the budget stuff and cheaper than the high end units
