Need to power my 1080TI - Where do I get an 8pin (6+2) EVGA black sleeved cable?

Hi,

I have an EVGA Supernova 650 G2 PSU.

I only have one VGA connector in atm because I'm powering an RTX 2060 that only needs 1 x 8 pin.

This is so frustrating - I recently moved and I can't find any of the spare cables that came with the PSU.

I didn't know this when I purchased the 1080 TI the other day ... just gone to install it and I can't lol.

I only have one 8pin (6+2) connector and I can't find my other one.

I've googled around but I'm not sure where the best place would be to get this other connector I need. I want it in black sleeving like my other cables are.

I'm also assuming I can't get one cable with two 8 pin connectors on to power this GPU due to the PSU limitations? So it's best to get a second 8 pin (6+2) cable.

I'm based in the UK - any recommendations would be appreciated.

I'm mainly asking because I want a quality cable. I've found this one that looks exactly what I need.

Thank you!

They sell aftermarket cables and they aren't cheap. Otherwise try EVGA and if they would sell you the cable you need. But I think they also sell cable sets themselves on their site.

That would be great Shiika.

I have just bought this one. That will be ok for now I take it? I don't know if I need specific cables or any 8 pin will be ok?

Feel free to message me the details and shipping cost and I'll let you know - the 1080 TI I just got was the MSI gaming X so red would be awesome

The cable you bought looks like a stock G2 PCI-E cable
Forgot to tell you that the cable kit that i have also comes with cable combs as i hate wires crossing each other

Only reason why i am buying a new PSU is the G2 does not have enough SATA power connectors and i am using all the cables that i have in all the ports available so i need a PSU with x5 ports for SATA power instead of only x4 on the G2

A pain in the butt that the only PSU below 850/1000 watts with x5 ports that i can find is the Seasonic Prime Ultra Titanium 750 watt which is not exactly the cheapest PSU around and i still need to order some cables from CableMod for it

Edit: i will keeping the G2 and the stock cables as a spare or in a another build later

Yeah, I thought the cable I bought was a stock cable which is why I went ahead with it thinking it would be ok to use.

The stock VGA cables that came with my PSU are "2x 8pin (6+2), 2x 6pin" but the cable I just bought was 1 x 8pin (6 + 2) and no 6pin. I guess it makes no difference and will still work with my 650 G2 PSU? This cable will be great for me to get my rig sorted in the interim. For aesthetics and the possibility of me needing even more cables that I lost, I'm definitely interested in the kit you have.

Let me know the postage cost whenever you can. Cable combs are fine.

Hope your new PSU purchase goes well - I'm still within the boundaries of my PSU but I've been thinking ... what if I wanted to add another 1080 TI in the future lol. Anyway, that's not in the near future so for now all good.

Thanks again Shiika!

Yeah, I've always heard that.

Are you able to confirm that the cable I bought is compatible?

I've just seen this cable which is the same as the one I'm missing. I'm assuming there's no difference between this one and the one I purchased with regards to using only the 8 pin connector?

Such a noob question I'm sure but I can't help but triple check things when related to power.
