I only said one thing about the rosewill as I have read many times they die and take parts with them after a long period of usage (around a year - two) As with most cheap psu's this will happen...

When you find PSU's like Silverstone and FSP they will last you a heck of a lot longer and while they do will be fine.

Ultra X-Connects, the early versions and their early X-Finity power supplies, shouldn't knock their company.

If you want to avoid a great value in the X-Pro 600 and Rosewill RP500-2, be my guest. Pay a premium for a lesser product. It's not my concern, I'm just going to disagree with anyone knocking a product I have validated with my own testing, especially if that dimwit has the nerve to knock a product he's never even owned himself.
yeah i stopped listening to pook/sideburns...they usually act snotty now

X-Connect 500w I believe is the true culprit for Ultra.
All their others are good/great.

The low end offer stable good power for most people, and the high end really do work well for harcore folks.

I am running 4 120mm, one 200mm, one 40mm and one 60mm, dual optical drives, dual hard drives, and a dual 4" cold cathode kit, ALL off the standard molex power off my 600w. That's a total of 12 molex powered items, and I can still run a solid 3.7Ghz (0.9Ghz OC) on my chip for over 20 hours Orthos. At 1.4v vcore mind you!

Ultra FTW! ($70 PSU!)

The 500w X-Connect is the one that blew out on me.

Doesn't matter which PSU you have. As long as they don't kill your computer.

While I agree with all of the above, I don't like how (alternately) some people bash the OCZ units. Sure, they're overrated as hell, and there *could* be a better value for the price, hence the Rosewill and Ultra units.

I don't like how some people with their Ultras just sit there and say "lawl, dum nub bawt a GameXStreme & now rippel is gunna kill hiz PeeCee."

I have never heard of a GXS or any FSP PSU for that matter take out a PC. Ever. And if I did, I wouldn't have bought this one. Everybody I know uses OCZ and FSP PSUs. I have been in the presence of an exploding X-Connect; granted, it was an "old one."

RIP Syrillian

Personally, I only have problems with manufacturers who don't deliver what they say their product can deliver:

The Ultra X-Pro 600w EE is a unit that was rife with good intentions and by all paper metrics the unit should have been a dream component for the majority of users with its high efficiency, large quiet fan, and well sized 12v rail. However, the unit simply failed to perform under our demanding testing regime. To be a bit more precise, two Ultra 600w EE units completely failed during our 100% load testing scenarios which kept us from even attempting our “PSU Torture Test” phase. The unit will not supply the power that it promises to on its box. We do not recommend this particular Ultra X-Pro model 600w EE.
That's why I don't like Ultra.

From what I've read, there are a lot of manufacturers who fail to deliver on their promises--I don't buy any of them.

Jack Miner is all out of bubblegum.

X-Connect 500w FTL
X-Finity 600w FTW
OCZ/FSP FTW, Unless you'd rather spend the cash on better RAM or something, like me

I own a Rosewill Stallion and it handles every kind of overclock I throw out it and the rails are very solid.

If a PSU is cheap then people are going to bash it becuase nothing can be good cheap.

Look at Xclio though...they are very cheap for the watt/amperage however always solid as hell for the money.

Rosewill and Ultra are NOT bad PSU's. Maybe not as respected as FSP but still they have some killer models.
