My last 3 builds have AX1200s, still using two of them, and am now considering the AX1500i for the next.

Question: Does the Corsair link need to be connected all the time, like to change the fan settings? I'm wondering if once it's been changed will it hold whatever setting I chose after I disconnected the USB cable, like an Aquaero will, or does the cable need to be connected at all times? I really don't care for much of what Corsair link offers for the PSU as far as I can tell, but I really would like the fan to come on at a much lower load or temp than what I've seen that it does out of the box. I'd rather it stay on 24/7 tbh, but I'm not sure it's worth having to tie up a USB header on the mobo permanently to do.

Is anyone here happy with Corsair link? I don't think I've ever heard anything but complaints about it.

I sent a PM to the Corsair rep on here about the AX1500i and didn't even get a response. rolleyes.gif

Can anyone tell me why this PSU is not available directly from Amazon? I don't really care for NewEgg but the ones on Amazon are being sold by some other shop and for an exorbitant price - ~ $650.

Further, for those with personal experience with the AX1500i (or just very good knowledge of the PSU), can you tell me if it will handle 4-Way GTX-Titan Black SCs OC'd and over-volted along with a highly OC'd 3970X @ 4.8Ghz - please see my sig rig (X79)?

I think my run with multi-rail PSUs is nearing its end - I want to have the stability of a very strong single-rail PSU that can handle my system with ease.

I have a dedicated 20A breaker for my rig so it should handle it without issue given the PSU works flawlessly.

Would really appreciate some advice/help with this.

1-link is not always a must...many have complained about it actualy not working and others havnt..its 50/50..for the fan control part..then its a must unfortunately.
many have asked why dont they make these psus with intergrated fan buttons or a real fancontroller for just the psu fan..like what CM did with their hybrid psus but no rpl on that ....

2:even a ax1200 can do 4 way sli/crossfire
so what does that tell you off the ax1500i..
it will be expensive no matter were yo buy it..its their new top dog psu..and actualy their first psu rated above 1200+wats..
so expect a premium price tag ..why not wait a while till prices drop a bit? then splash out for it..
i agree..its crazy to ask 650$ for psu..but thats outa all our hands..why not buy directly from corsair online shop instead?
