Friends I'm planning to buy a HD5770 on april.
My question is,
can i run this gpu on my amigo 500watt psu for few months before I buy a cooler master psu?
I wont overclock any components
My psu has 18a current in its 12v rail and a 6pin pci ex connector.
By the way let me know you all that I shall change my psu by octeber.

don't but a cooler master power supply, most of them are junk. look into antec, or corsair units.

18a in 12v on 500w unit? x2 240 is 65w at stock. 5770 is a 110w GPU. It may make the cut but I won't try it.

My cpu consume 65watt at full load,
hd5770 consumes 105at full load.
I mentioned that I'm not going to OC any components with this psu.So do you still think I cant run this card for 3 months till I buy a new psu?

I'd honestly say no, it's a cheap generic unit. it can't do it's rated wattage for one, voltage regulation is probably junk and ripple will be out of spec. If it dies there probably isn't any safety protections to prevent damage to your components.

Except the cooler master's can't do their rated voltage on a lot of their line up, and when they do ripple is usually out of spec. Cooler master power supplies in general are garbage.

flipmatthew that's presuming the brand isn't lying about specs.

if you are going for cooler master, get an elite 400w, (460w is a rebadged 400w) do NOT get an extreme power plus.
