Overclock.net BOINC Team subforum

What is the monthly "BOINCers Gone Bonkers" event about?
Similar to the Foldathons; this is a 48-hour period where everyone fires up every computer they have, and tries to earn as many credits as they possibly can in an effort to boost our team ranking in both overall ranking and per-project rankings.
It's also a great time to take a break from gaming to increase your credits. Plus, it raises awareness for BOINC and distributed computing as a whole. Getting word out is crucial for the long term stability and success of our BOINC team, and we hope to get some new long term BOINCers in the process.

How do I donate my prize and are there any restrictions?
Typical marketplace rules apply on what can be donated. If you are not allowed to post it on the Overclock.net Marketplace, then it will not be allowed to be placed in the prize pool for BOINCers Gone Bonkers.
You MUST cover the shipping costs if shipping within your country of residence.
Send a Private Message (PM) to a BOINC Editor with the item that you wish to donate and pics of the item(s) (if possible) or link to the item on the web (if possible) and it's value.

Why donate your freebie towards BGB events?
  • You will be helping the Overclock.net BOINC Team expand its efforts and gain more exposure
  • The prize will be given to someone that assists in improving Overclock.net's BOINC ranking in the world.
  • All you need to do is tell us what you are donating, and we will message you when a winner for your prize is determined. This means less time taken on your part!

If you have any questions concerns, or want to donate a prize, don't hesitate to send a BOINC Editor a Private Message

btw, ive never done the BOINC and no clue what it is, would appreciate maybe a PM of a simplistic explanation

Ive never been able to realistically run any of my PC;s for extended periods of time, so ive never been able to help out with folding or seti or really anything else that truly interests me in the distributed computing world
