It is a crap controller, cheap feel with lackluster button timing. Poor positioning of buttons (to tight and just wrong areas). Response time of the 'so-called' mouse replacement track pads are horrible. Thus $5

sold out last night, couldn't get a fourth.

got 2 outta one address, and 1 outta another, then got the sold out message this morning while trying to pull a fourth (since it wouldn't let me, know matter what, last night)

and yet they'll still be $100 within a year. which is weird, since XB1 controllers are even P&P on android and lots of distros.

FYI on STEAM not backing this controller . . .

**Software isn't the only thing on sale. The Steam Controller has also gotten a massive price cut for the event, bringing it down to a cool $5. Steam has confirmed this is the last of its stock of Steam Controllers, so they're bound to go fast and then they won't be coming back.**

what does not backing mean? they made it, tuned it, it failed, along with steaming pile of shart boxes, and thus they're ending the storage contract. Gotta go! Cut the losses. I have more leeway with Valve than others, them never going public = they can throw money into the dumpster without anyone suing them. thus why HL2:3 is coming on VR only

either way - stock is gone. I guess there's a market for RTS on controller after all?

My sentiment exactly on this. I'd imagine these may actually be valuable to collectors in 10 years for anyone that keeps them unopened that is.

Edit:

I understand your question which I can't answer, only speculate STEAM is going to adapt to current app compliant controllers or is creating a much improved one
