Totally New PC, Must have apps?

So, i rebuilt my PC. Saved nothing as my drives were on the way out. So new Motherboard, CPU, RAM, Graphics Card, Hard drives. The lot. So my question: What would you guys say are "must download/have" applications and software to put on a fully brand new PC with fresh install of Windows 10?

Could be anything from General internet explorers, music apps, maintenance or anything in between.

Drivers are pretty invaluable. Snappy Driver Installer is good for that.

And I've been using Glary Utilities since the CCleaner malware incident. Works pretty well.

Firefox has replaced Google Chrome as my go to browser. Chrome and now Edge have begun heading in a direction that I do not agree with but to each his own.

Yeah the first thing after Windows was finished was installing the Drivers. So i think i am all up to date on all of that. Currently installing MSI Afterburner. Trying to find if theres any Tomahawk Max software that will allow me to change the LED colours of the Motherboard LEDs. its odd that it has these LED lights that are red when the rest of the motherboard is black and white Lol

I already have Firefox, really the only one i have ever used except when it full on broke for no reason but its back up and working now whats the CCleaner incident?

Wouldn't logitech only really be good if you have logitech components?

If it's Windows 10 non-Enterprise: Spybot Antibeacon, ShutUp10 or other Windows10 sanitizer

If it's Windows 10 non-Enterprise: some sort of Windows update manager such as wushowhide to stop forced updates that break your PC
Bluescreenview from Nirsoft (so you know more than just an unhappy face when you get a crash)
hwinfo64 / CPU-Z / GPU-Z tools
Whatever utilities that you need for your SSD health monitoring and firmware checking
Lightweight antivirus of your choice (not really optional on Windows)
Malware bytes anti-malware (not really optional on Windows)
Process Lasso

7zip / peazip
f.lux (if your monitor doesn't have blue light filter)
Mozilla Firefox / browser of choice
Libre Office if you aren't installing Microsoft Office
Paint.net / GIMP / image editor (optional IMO)
VLC / Spotify (optional IMO)
Audacity / sound editor (optional IMO)
Handbrake if you video encode / convert
Notepad++ (optional IMO)
Evernote / Onenote (optional, notetaking)
Steam (if you play games only)
VirtualBox / VMWare variants (if you intend to run VMs)

► Recommended GPU Projects: [email protected] , [email protected] (FP64) (AMD moreso) ► Other notable GPU projects: [email protected] (Nvidia), GPUGrid (Nvidia) ► Project list

What I consider to be a companion app to O&O Shutup10 is Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4. UWT allows you to change a variety of essential behind the scenes windows behaviors and is a must for every enthusiast.

CCleaner was acting as a trojan and allowing malware to be installed on a significant number of users PCs. https://www.pcworld.com/article/3225...d-malware.html

My suggestion was going to be MSI Afterburner lol.

the MSI Gaming App has a section for LED control if that board doesn't support mystic light.

Arm, luckily win10 is pretty competent in finding & pushing its own drivers, unless you're on super convoluted.

I'm drawing a complete blank right now, but I use a special win10 security app... i'll remember the name here in a sec.

R.I.P. Zawarudo, may you OC angels' wings in heaven.
If something appears too good to be true, it probably is.
