idk why this doesn't get more attention

imagine applying this to squadrons of ships missiles and jets in real life.

Once your robots die, do you really think your humans can compete?

Games like Half-Life had intelligent AI already. We don't need AI cores for that, games are made with dumb AI so even the dumbest person (child) can feel relevant in the game they bought. Thank consoles for that.

Well, that and the emphasis on multiplayer has significantly reduced focus on game-related AI, so we can also thank rapid adoption of broadband internet. That said, with all of the progress in the general field of AI it should be easier than ever to put something impressive together if a developer were so inclined.

Man is the most dangerous game. If one wants a challenge, one must look no further than multiplayer. To complain about the focus on multiplayer robbing development teams of time to improve computer AI is to miss the point entirely.

To be fair, I'm not complaining about anything. Focus on multiplayer development is a logical reason to spend less time on AI development. In the context of the post that I replied to, it is worth mentioning as I rather doubt we can lay the entire rationale at the feet of gratification for the lowest common denominator.

Why else would we have AI acceleration features on GPUs other than to cheat!
