Here's the definition one more time:

A weapon, arm or armament is *any device that can be used with intent to inflict damage or harm*. "
but thats for the receiving end, so you're saying the soldiers that will be given Hololens are now under threat of being hacked, is that actually a self-harming weapon then?

but that makes sense, now that $479 million dollar funds is gonna be used for self-mutilating purposes, this ridiculousness definitely needs to be stopped.

trolling an adult is very dangerous, don't try it at home nor at work. you don't want to play tag with a rabid man.

Come on guys, there's a difference between building a telescope for astronomy versus a scope for a sniper rifle. The difference is the intended application. People get paid more to work in the military industry because a lot of talented folks will choose to not work there (recruitment purposes).

Those 50 people are supposed to be THE Hololens team.

They're apparently mad because Microsoft cut a deal for supplying the government directly instead of them buying from a 3rd party retailer.

Meh, I can understand where the employees are coming from. But who knows if the military side of this was classified when they were working on it or not. Probably was and then it came out later what the application of the tech was.

Seems like something for a more traditional defense contractor would work on. Relieve Microsoft of the burden, let the national labs take care of it and sub it out to Raytheon or Boeing.

Incorporate some sweet Nvidia AI into those scopes. Spare friendlies.

real-time tagging would be good, imagine everything on the HUD has a name tagged on their heads, red for hostiles, green for allies, and yellow for neutrals.

Which is probably the best outcome for everybody.
This is probably one of the silliest protests, you’re developing something to enable people to make good choices in the field, not something like a bigger bomb to mindlessly kill.

imagine a squad discussing something...
squad member A = target spotted, a bright red name and rainbow flashing boarder... very eye catching
squad member B = is that the boss?
squad member A = yeah thats the boss

but jokes aside, the most practical use for the Hololens is actually a real-time overlay of a 3D map.
they won't need to check locations by taking out a paper map, and theres even an active indicator of where to go.
edit: this was also the main use of civilian hololens users.

Yes you did...unless you don't work. W-4 form
Taxes are fine if the people paying them get something for their money. We don't get free heathcare or college yet I pay taxes twice on every dollar I make. Our heathcare system is also a joke, compare what we have in the US to Cuba and you'll see just how inefficient everything is here in the US.
