I am curious if AMD has the money to stand toe to toe with INTEL on this one. They will most likely give up the GPU market otherwise their spot light will be short lived.

Intel 10nm and TSMC 7nm is all a wash. There isn't any actual 10nm or 7nm measurement in any of this.

If you look at what's actually available to purchase on the market, you'll reach the logical conclusion that the competition didn't merely catch up to Intel, it surpassed Intel in terms of leading edge manufacturing. As of right now (well, actual market availability later in the year anyway) Intel is incapable of delivering anything but comparatively low clocked mobile parts on 10nm, with 10nm desktop parts being scheduled for only sometime next year, whereas you can buy AMD desktop CPUs made on TSMC's 7nm process right now.

Sitting on your ass and milking users for years with 4 cores has finally caught up to Intel.
Go back to making nic chips please.

AMD is the only sane option these days.

That's some serious mental gymnastics there.

Lets play fill in the blank:

If you aren't the leader, you are _______ the leader.

Now take a deep breath and repeat after me "AMD currently has a slightly better CPU on the market than Intel"

See? That wasn't so hard. The sky didn't fall, the world didn't end, and the sun is still shining.

Hi,
Not sure that is completely true Thread ripper sure is impressive though compared to skylake-x but does it perform slightly better than Intel or are we just purely thinking cost per performance which amd is much better value not slightly better
