TV Wall Mount

So I’m looking for a wall mount for my TV. I need something that can fold down vertically as the wall immediately adjacent to the TV wall has some cool built ins that I don’t want to block with the TV, but also preferably being able to angle it as well, as the TV wall is kind of in the corner and we have a sectional couch.

The TV is 55 inches diagonally and is curved if that makes much difference.

Thank you so much for your help, the idea of hanging a giant, expensive contraption like the TV is kind of nerve wracking so having some experienced council is greatly appreciated!

Bump.

But also: I forgot to mention, having a slot to put my sound bar (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1) would be amazing.

I saw this yesterday and didn't reply because I was unsure what you are trying to accomplish. "Fold down vertically" makes it sound like you are wanting to manage some wild MTV Cribs motorized contraption.

The only common wall mounts I have used are the fixed mounts or the "full motion" mounts that let you pull the TV out from the wall and turn it side to side. I suspect that a full motion mount would be what you are after as you could pull it away from the wall and angle it towards the couch, but could fold it flat against the wall to have access to the built in shelves on the adjacent wall.

Haha sorry, I should probably phrase it differently. The problem with just the straightforward wall mounts that push in is that the built ins have doors that will hit the TV even if it’s flush against the wall (they’d hit the wall now if the TV stand wasn’t blocking them entirely). We thought about just hanging the TV above the built ins, but that seems like it’d cause a lot of neck strain. Hence wanting to be able to pull it down when in use and lift it up when it’s not.
I did find this, but I’m not positive it does what I want and I have no idea if it’s reliable: http://www.morryde.com/products/138-...iling-tv-mount

Well the one you linked supports 12-20lbs... No way your 55" TV is that light. But the first result of searching for "drop down wall mount" lead me to this https://www.mantelmount.com/ which looks like it might work for your use case.

That’s a nice mount, wish I found that before I got mine. Though I just love how easy they make pulling the tv out, won’t ever be that easy in RL
