I've had a Clip+ for the past 6months, but it's battery isn't very impressive.

I'm not an ipod fan, mostly because of their price and itunes requirement. I much prefer a simple drag and drop folder structure, but I need something small that I can carry around (Not an Archos and the like).

I hate arm bands, and love how the clip is just a simple way to carry around a cheap player on your waist, but it's battery life isn't what I'm looking for.

Suggestions?

How long do run for that the battery runs out on you ? j/k My sansa clip gets about 7-8 hours of use. Just wondering if maybe there is something wrong with the battery on yours as 7 hours is probably the average norm for life on them.

But if you want something else, I have not looked into much of the new stuff since I bought mine. The sansa is perfect for what I use it for and has pretty good SQ for the price.

I feel like mine is around 5 hours, but maybe that's just me? I bought it from Amazon, but didn't purchase any additional warranty. Don't they come with a year's worth from Sansa? I'm wondering if they would help me at all.

You used to be able to use a 3rd party tool on the Shuffle to just drag and drop music to the device. I don't know if you are going to find an MP3 player simpler and better than that. Let me see if I can find the tool.

edit: I can't, I think I sold my old shuffle to blupupher here on OCN. He might be able to find the tool.

What kind of bit-rate are you running? I felt like when I was using FLAC on my Sansa Fuze, the battery ran out a lot faster than when it was doing MP3 V0.

Everythings MP3...could it be because I shuffle a lot, rather than just let it play? I seem to skip 10-20 songs before I hit one I want to hear.
