To cut things short : Is the 448 so much better than the 428's ?? I've heard the 428's and they;re OK .. VFM.. the 448s are significantly more expensive..

I like the response specs (see graph below) for the 438 .. opinions?

Folks,

Well , which one >?

They're a difference of about 10$ in the street price of all these products, in ascending order, OFC.

Thanks for your help!

To put things in perspective, prices here are :
418 is for 57$
428 is for 62$
438 is for 68$
448 is for 74$

My bro just got a pair of 428's but I didn't get much time hands on .. Overall ,, mild distortion , missing the promised 'boomy' bass.. but much satified anyhow.. soundstage needs work. Couldn't handle "The quiet place " .

This is it..
Previous headies :

1. PXC 300 : useless without the amp on all the time!! Had to press it against my ears to get something out of it :/ they come alive , all of a sudden. Nice soundstage biggrin.gif

2. HD238 : Good open air sound smile.gif Amazing build ( but , the plastic left a little to be desired) Distortion was such a PITA frown.gif

3. HD202 : OK. Bass fine even without an amp. Muddy mids / highs MIA?

4. CX-300 II : No more in ears, thanks!

5. SS Siberias V1 : Good soundstage

Please feel free to suggest anything else in this price range ..

Music and gaming use : (Besides CS 1.6,UT2k4 )

Some RnB/Apocalyptica to test the unit.
Foo fighters.
In Flames ( FLAC )

Thats about it .. If there's anything out there that can run the above , I'm more than happy to go ahead and buy it .

Adding some graphs for comparison's sake !

Something tells me that the 438 will beat all .. I like the graphs .. really do , and don't see much of an improvement ( graph wise, at least) that the 448 supposedly makes over the 428

Inputs appreciated!

Just wondering on a side note.. How much of an improvement is there in the 448's drivers as compared to the 428 .. they seem to share the same frequency response as posted in my 2nd post.. only the build seems different!

I've come from a few other headphones.. not so sure that I'd be really happy with spening ~ 25$ extra for something that offers negligible improvements.. unless I'm totally mistaken!!

Keep the thread going! Buying in 10 hours!!!
