Wow ... I had no idea this thread was here , my excuse for being late to the party!

Anyhow I'm currently enjoying my vinyl collection again after resurrecting my old JBE Slate turntable after she's been laying idle for about 10 years! ... here's some quick , fuzzy snaps!
The arms an SME 3S and the cartridge is a Shure V15 type III ... still sounding good after all these years , I bought all this new back in 1981 or 82.

Sadly my amp went a bit moody a few years ago .. (an Arcam Alpha 3 ) and blew itself up and took out one of my speakers .. (one of a pair of Wharfedale Diamond IV) , so to get this going again with my Denon 1612 AV amp I bought a cheapie Behringer PP400 phono-stage ... and now we are all up and running nicely!!

I've also got an ARCAM P77 cartridge here and after a bit of searching around found a supplier for a new stylus ... that should arrive any day now! ... happy days!

Next stop may well be a new (or more likely 2nd hand) amp and speakers , as funds allow! ... nothing too fancy , but I'm liking the look,and the idea of going with tubes for the amp!!

Speaking of which , has anybody any experience of the Fatman ITube range??

Never had the chance to listen to a yamaha, unlike denon and akai which I aways see them.

I do take extra care of my sistem and not a single one has ever needed to be serviced. That luxman however, I had to rebuild myself when I found it in pieces inside a old dust as hell box (not even the original screws was there, and it was the same box my AKG was =P), fortunately everything was working so it was only a matter of cleaning and assembly

Just had the Yamaha RXV681 delivered to me today and just finished plugging everything in including the phono. I needed an amp/receiver that could do Hi-Fi and Home Theater Surround to replace the Yamaha HTR 5830.

I sent my Yamaha HTR 5830 to Yamaha for repair and will be using it for my PC surround.

I started with Yamaha back in 1992 with the RX 460.

Before that, as a teen, I had a Techniques stereo system.

On topic;

Looking at the post above mine, I own an older Yamaha turntable, that is why my record collection will always carry a tune with the new Yamaha RXV681!

Well, it turns out my old JBE's motors playing up ... not surprising really as it's over 40 years old now!
So time to get in some new gear ... so splashed out on a Rega RP6 plus an Ortofon 2m Black cartridge!! thumb.gif

Well, a few more upgrades ... a pair of Arcam Alpha 8 amps, now bi-wiring my Mission 752 speakers!

Also using an A&R P77 with retip by Expert Stylus Co ... on top of that I've had the arm re-wired by Johnnie at AudioOrigami!
