So since i brought my new receiver every time i play a game it flash 2-3 times or more depending on the game and i can see on the screen indicating 720p at 60hz.

My ps3 is set to accept 480p 720p 1080p, I thought that it detected the game running at 720p and down-scaled from the os 1080p to the game 720p but it do that repeatedly.. It doesn't do that on the os or when i watch blu ray.

What's going on?

is your television native 720p or 1080p? which television do you have?
not all games support full 1080p.

My tv is native 1080p and also support 720p, re6 and saint row 3 are 720p it just flash repeatedly for some time, like it's detecting that it's 720p but it do that 2-3 times in short intervals even after 30 minutes playing.

check your cables, make sure they're in all the way.
i have a similar setup, and it does flash when changing resolutions as the receiver adjusts the output to your tv. this should only happen when changing resolutions, not during gameplay.

test going just to the tv to see if it's the ps3 or not.
is your receiver under warranty?

Yes it is under warranty but i think it the ps3 or the cable because i just turned the ps3 hdmi to the left i get a black screen and when i turn it to the right the screen is normal.. Gonna check the hdmi output of the ps3.

Seems to be the cable, it doesn't "click" in place and seems a bit loose when it's plugged in.. If i take the cable 10 cm away from the hdmi plug and pull it a little to the left it do a black screen.
