I have an old Bose unpowered sub, it takes L/R inputs from the stereo amp. then splits them off to the L/R speakers. Thing is, it doesn't seem to make any difference at all. I don't hear any bass coming out of it at all. Could it be blown? Would the only way to know this be to take it apart?

It's an Acoustimass 5 Series II, it indicates it was part of a Direct Reflecting Speaker System.

You have an amp feeding the sub and the the sub feeding the speakers?

And the speakers play but the sub does not?

Then yes, I'd open the sub and look for a loose connection somewhere. If all the connections are good then it's likely the sub isn't a sub anymore.

Yep, that's how I have it hooked up, except it's not feeding the old cube speakers but my old speakers that have a cone and tweeter.

Thanks.
